The present of EVITA MOUSSALLI
At the 7th City People Fashion and Beauty
Awards, the Chief Operating Officer of Nigerian wave-making stations Cool FM
and Wazobia FM, Evita Moussalli stole the show with her eye-popping outfit
designed by Italian designer Patrizia Pepe . On the red carpet, Evita had a
chat with City People and talked about what makes their radio stations tick,
she said “Our stations have something for everyone and people can relate to
them. We like to keep them new and fresh in tune with current events and
incorporating cool stuff”.
While the Amine Moussalli-owned radio stations
continue to expand, Evita disclosed that they are set to float another news
outfit: “We are actually working on floating a TV station in Lagos soon, though it will take some
time”. The pretty lady who is the daughter of multibillionaire business
mogul Amine Moussallii was raised and schooled in Lagos. She is trilingual and conversant with
many cultures. She graduated from the University of Southern California, L.A. with a Bachelor degree in Architecture.
Thereafter she worked in AIM Consultants Inc., Architects & Engineers in Macon Georgia, USA. Subsequently, Evita worked as a Design
Architect with AIM Consultants Ltd., a subsidiary of AIM Group Ltd in Lagos.
While the Amine Moussalli-owned radio stations continue to expand
Evita's broadcasting experience commenced
while in high school where she used to audition music and assist in scheduling
music and conceptualizing show and game ideas for Cool FM. In 2009, the AIM
Group Board appointed her as COO of the 2 leading FM stations, namely COOL FM
and WAZOBIA FM in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja (Federal Capital). Evita is the key
contributor behind the creation of Wazobia FM, the first Pidgin English radio
station in the whole of Africa.
As a humanitarian, Evita has always been
committed to community outreach and gearing the radio towards public
service.
She is instrumental in developing the format of the wave-making
FM stations comprising of COOL FM which was born on 1st October
1998 in the heart of Lagos(96.9 FM), and outstations in Port-Harcourt
(95.9 FM) ,Abuja (96.9 FM),and Kano(96.9FM) and WAZOBIA FM which kicked off 1st
November 2007 in the heart of Lagos(95.1 FM) with outstations in
Port-Harcourt (94.1 FM), Abuja (99.5 FM),and Kano ( 95.1 FM). While COOL FM
covers interesting stuff ranging from a blend of urban, adult contemporary and
popular culture music from both international and indigenous artists with a
fusion of global and national news, topical issues, sports, interviews, games,
entertainment gist to the freshest sounds on the radio, WAZOBIA FM aka Ogbonge
Station brings to listeners a vibrant blend of indigenous artists from all over
Africa.
The musical background at Wazobia is infused with global and national
news, topical issues, sports, interviews, games and entertainment gist, all
delivered in Pidgin.
