Nigerian Youngest PhD holders, Opemipo Sodipe; Tope Adeyemi,Gombe speaker,Kemi Mimimko,Lagos State Police Spokeperson, Ngozi Conchita Braide; Nollywood actor, Mike Ezuronye; star actress Lizzy Anjorin and many others have bagged the 2012 Young Achievers Nigeria Awards.

The award which is a celebration of young Nigerians, who have distinguished themselves in their various endeavours both at home and in the Disapora, was held last held last Sunday at Balmoral Hall, Oregun, Lagos.

Organized by Young Achievers Nigeria Magazine, the third season of the award tagged:” The celebration & honouring of young barrier breakers” had 25 years old Sodipe of Babcock University Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, honoured as role model of the year, fo recently setting a new academic record by emerging the youngest doctorate degree holder,with her counterpart from unilag-tope adeyemi who also went home with the role model award.
The young politician of the year award was won by Gombe speaker-rt. Hon. Inuwa Garba

In well attended event Braide, was equally honoured as Police Spokeperson of the Year. She is the first PPRO in Lagos State and 16th person to hold such office.
Ezuronye was named the Actor of the Year{ English} while Lizzy bagged the Acress of the Year {Yoruba} for their remarkable contributions in the movie industry.

For the second consecutive time, Hon. Adijatu Adeleye- Olada[po was recognized as the Performing Lawmaker of the Year {State Assembly female category}. She is the House Committee Chairman on House Services and Vice Chairman, Public Account AND Anti Corruption in Ogun State,while the performing law maker(state assembly male was won by Honourable Jamiu Ojodu.
The business circle was not left out as Tunde Ojo, a well trained and qualified architect, was named the CEO of the Year. The entertainment industry was not left out as tu face won the creative|constistent artist of the year category.also brand manager of the year category went to cletus onyebuoha.in the same vein,the promising politician of the year award was won by ibrahm obanikoro.

Femi akinrutan was voted the young man of the year (oil & amp gas) while femi Adeniran won the most valuable man of the year (public service)

Speaking after receiving the award, Braide, who assumed office in Lagos PPRO about five months ago, said the award was a surprise to her adding: “I feel honoured and very humbled and I think this was achieved with the help of the print and the electronic media because they have been very supportive. The award will encourage me more to do more and to know that I have a heavy task ahead.” Also, Hon. Adeleye-Oladapo, who was recently given an award of Best Media friendly Lawmaker by Media Nite Awards remarked thus: “I feel glad as expected. To me, it is a challenge. It means that there are some people out there that are looking at what you are doing. So there is a need for you to be up and doing.”

Earlier in the keynote address, the Chairman/CEO of AEG Consultants and Atlantic Overseas Company , Mr. Adrian Gbinigie, asked the government to engage the youths in agricultural development in addressing unemployment in the country.

Speaking on the topic “Taking your destiny in your own hand “, Gbinige stated that the country is practically wasting her best quality of youths in employment market, urging the graduate youths to for a co-operative and start a small scale enterprise, rather than searching for white collar Jobs.

Coordinator of the award, Adeduntan Ibrahim Yinka, expressed happiness for the success of the programme and stated that it is an award that honours resilient young people who, despite the odds, strived to achieve greatness in their endeavours
