Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill
Akpabio has enjoined Nigerians to remember and celebrate former players
of Super Eagles for their outstanding contributions to the image of the
nation.
Akpabio made the call Sunday when the
Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria,
Inuwa Garba, leading members of a Non-Governmental Organisation,
Akpabioism Centre for Leadership Development, paid him a courtesy visit
at Government House, Uyo.
Akpabio said, “I welcome the former
Super Eagles who played in this year’s football match organised by
‘Akpabioism’. They are gentlemen who made Nigeria proud, we must always
remember them and must continue to celebrate them. So, we must stand
together to raise our children to be great for the future of the
country”.
He said the initiative was aimed at good governance.
“No matter the state you come from, you
must appreciate good governance. Hence, the will of God for man is
progress, good roads, basic education, health care system, renovation of
massive infrastructure through the governance seen in Akwa Ibom State,”
