Angry Birds Trilogy boxed game tops 1m sales
Official boxed video game hits new milestone.
The Angry Birds Trilogy game for Xbox 360, PS3 and 3DS has reached one
million unit sales.
The news comes as publisher Activision and developer Rovio plan to release
the game on Nintendo Wii and Wii U later this year. It first arrived on other
consoles last September.
Angry Birds Trilogy contains three mobile titles: Angry Birds, Angry
Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio.
“Angry Birds' proven formula for fun and addicting gameplay translated
perfectly to the big screen and the consumer response has been overwhelming,”
said Jennifer Mirabelli, VP of Sales and Marketing for Activision
Publishing.
Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games for Rovio, added: "It was certainly
satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in
2012.
The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we’re
excited to release this version to fans."
Angry Birds Trilogy features all-new animations and interactive backgrounds,
over 700 levels and 150 hours of gameplay. A new extra downloadable
add-on, Anger Management, boasts even more levels.
