Tragic Death End for 64 Stone Man

Ricky Naputi was one of the world's fattest men  who ate himself to death

ONE of the world's fattest men has died at the age of 39 - weighing a staggering 64 stone.

Ricky Naputi piled on the pounds thanks to a gut-busting diet of 10,000 calories a day.
He grew so fat he was left bedridden in his home on the Pacific island of Guam for FIVE YEARS - being cared for around the clock by his wife Cheryl.

Ricky was offered life-saving surgery and a TV crew from US network TLC who followed him for three years as he battled to lose enough weight to travel to a hospital in the US.
But he ran out of time and died in November 2012 - before the footage of his plight could be aired.

Ricky's story was finally told this week in a moving documentary that charted his weight battle and his touching relationship with Cheryl.

The pair were married for 10 years, but Ricky's size meant they could never consummate the relationship.
Instead, his devoted spouse spent her days bathing and feeding him and even helping him go to the toilet.

In the show, Cheryl compares her role to "taking care of an overgrown baby".

In interviews Ricky, meanwhile, expresses his determination to live - if only so he can go outside again.

He told the TLC team: "I'm willing to try my best, my one goal and my one goal only is to get my life back.

"The last time I got out and enjoyed myself must have been years.
"I miss feeling the sun on my face. Miss showering, feeling water run down my body."

At the end of the special, paramedics are shown dashing to couple's home on Guam after Ricky collapsed. They spent an hour attempting to resuscitate him, before he was declared dead.
His cause of death was listed as morbid obesity.
