Notts County keeper carried off on stretcher after team-mate boots him in the face
Pre-season friendlies are usually an
opportunity for managers to try new tactics, throw in a few promising
youngsters and generally get the players up to fitness.
On
the odd occasion it can also boost a few ticket sales, so Notts County
would have been delighted to welcome Didier Drogba and his Galatasaray
team-mates to Meadow Lane.
Sadly
though, the match only left County boss Chris Kiwomya with a few
headaches, but none as bad the one suffered by keeper Bartosz
Bialkowski.
Early end: Didier Drogba (left) looks on as Bialkowski is prepared to be taken off on a stretcher.
After the home side had taken the lead, Burak Yilmaz pounced on a mistake to level from 12 yards for the Turkish outfit.
But
as Alan Sheehan attempted to kick the ball away in anger after the
equaliser, the defender instead booted his own keeper straight in the
face.
After a seven-minute
stoppage, Bialkkowsi was forced off the field on a stretcher and County
will now wait for the full extent of the injury.
That
wasn't the last kick in the teeth for Kiwomya's side though as
Galatasaray then snatched a winner in stoppage time through a Wesley
Sneijder strike.
