Borussia Dortmund desperate to keep Man United and Arsenal target

Borussia Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke is confident the club will tie Manchester United and Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan down to a new contact

Borussia Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke is confident the club will tie Manchester United and Arsenal target Ilkay Gundogan down to a new contact.

Both Premier League clubs are interested in the Germany international, although no official bids have been made this summer.

David Moyes is a big fan of the 22-year-old midfielder and relations between United and Dortmund are said to be strong.
Gundogan's contract with the German side expires in 2015 but discussions over a new deal have started.

And Watzke is confident a renewal is on the cards.
"I really think he will stay with us after 2015," he told Bild.
"This is the right club for him at this stage of his career."
