BON: Give us a brief intro about yourself?
My name is Temitope Osoba , I am an actress, I graduated from olabisi
onabanjo university Ago iwoye. I studied Business Education.
BON: what prompted you to go into acting?
Actually, I didn’t have the intentions of acting, it just came along
the line. It wasn’t something I had the intentions of doing, it wasn’t in my
agenda. Initially I used to be a dancer, I dance for a group of artist, then
this job came along the line, it was a dance movie that i featured in it that
was how it all started.
TOPE OSOBA
BON: How many movies have you featured in?
Truthfully, I can’t say exactly if you ask me, I won’t know but I have
done a lot. I can’t really put a figure to it but I have done a lot.
BON: Is there anything else Tope Osoba is into asides acting?
For now acting is the love of my life.
BON: How challenging has your job been?
It has been really challenging but trust me, I think I am strong enough
to handle everything that comes along, besides nothing good comes easy.
BON: Are you in a relationship?
Yes! I am in a relationship but that is all I would say
BON: What is your boyfriend’s reaction to some of your acting roles?
Sincerely, he is giving me all the support I need, he doesn’t mind. He
sees it as my job, it is my job because he knows me, he knows what I can do, so
when he sees me doing some roles in a movie he doesn’t have a problem with it.
BON: If you are given the opportunity to change one thing in Nollywood,
what would it be and why would you want it changed?
Ok let me see, I think Nollywood has really changed but if you had
asked me this question like 3-4 years ago I would have said a lot but right now
I think Nollywood is doing well and everything is ok and in place sort of.
BON: Would you say Nollywood has been able to shed more light on the
culture of the African woman?
Well, yes I would give them 51-70% but we need to do more when it comes
to the acting.
BON: You said you can’t expose yourself in a movie, does it have
anything to do with your background or with you as a person?
It has to do with a lot of things. First it has to do with my
background, secondly it has to do with our culture and thirdly it has to do
with me as a person I can’t go to the extreme because I have a limit.
What was growing up like for you?
For me growing up was fun because I was the first child of my parents
and the first Grandchild so I had fun with my mum and dad
BON: Do you have anything to say to your fans?
For my fans I would say never stop believing in yourself, don’t let
anybody bring you down just believe in yourself and do what you have to do
basically.
