The Kayode Fayemi campaign organisation
has boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) standard bearer and
governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi will poll not less than 80 percent of
the total votes cast in the June 21 election.
The
Director General of the organisation, Bimbo Daramola boasted last Thursday in
his Ire-Ekiti countryhome in Oye Local Government area during a rally.
Daramola, a member of the House of
Representatives dismissed the rumours that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
will use federal might to suppress APC in the election. He said such antics
would be impossible because of the backing Fayemi has been receiving
among the residents of Ekiti State.
“Fayemi will be declared the winner by not
less than 80 percent of the votes. You can see the kind of reception I am
receiving from my people. I want to tell you that we did not mobilize the
people for this rally, what you are seeing is spontaneous and this goes to tell
you that Fayemi has huge acceptability among the people.
“You can imagine what would have happened
if Governor Fayemi himself is here, So, we are optimistic that this election is
already won because we have the people behind us. No matter what the PDP
does in this election, God will manifest Himself. He will prove that he
will continue to be God over the affairs of men”, he said.
Speaking about the popularity of APC in
Oye Local Government, Fayemi’s base, Daramola said “the PDP is not only
unpopular in Ire Ekiti but in the entire council. And this is what you will get
in every other local governments if you move around the State”.
