Yes, whether it’s a term you fancy or not, Giannini’s latest
collection for Gucci puts that key few inches of skin on display atop, mostly,
white lace up sneakers and loafers.
Stop
your whispers about Frida Giannini, she’s not going anywhere any time soon. In
fact, the designer has recently renewed her contract with Gucci and is prepping
to celebrate a decade at the helm in 2015. So instead of chatting about that,
let’s turn our attention to the mankle.
It is to be expected–the mankle baring, that is–seeing as
the collection swims through nautical themes. Hitting everything from
what seems like Royal Navy inspirations with a palette of royal reds and rich
blues, to first mate gear with simple white button ups (epaulettes included),
and finally navigating to more precarious waters with pirate garb–what else
were we to think of when we saw distressed, rolled-up denim and net-like tank
tops — the collection is pretty comprehensive.
Accessories come by way of cross-body bags and bracelets
while the palette comes steeped in, you guessed it, white. If you’re feeling
wavy this season, this is the collection for you.
