Woman with Cripplingly Big Breasts is refused breast reduction by NHS
Men might have no clue, but most women know that the larger
your breasts, the more inconvenience and back pain they can cause.
Kim Mills, who currently has size KK breasts, claims they have given
her arthritis of the spine but has been refused breast reduction surgery by the
NHS.
Ms Mills’ request for a breast reduction to a Size D was refused by
Mid-Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) who described her case as ‘not
exceptional’.
She had lost four stone in weight in the hope of reducing the size
of her chest but to no avail.
As the Minister of Health, Jeremy Hunt, has attacked the amount of NHS
money spent on cosmetic surgery, Ms Mlls hopes her request for a breast
reduction can be granted as she does not have the finances for the
operation herself.
Mid-Essex CCG has responded that due to ‘new evidence’ her case will be
reconsidered in early July making it clear it does ‘not fund cosmetic surgery’.
The NHS spent £3.5 million on 790 breast implants last year alone.
