World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated on June 05, 2014 and is a
day that stimulates awareness of the environment and enhances political
attention and public action. June 5 was the day that United Nations
Conference on the Human Environment began in 1972.

This video is a message from Achim Steiner, UNEP Executive Director. He
is encouraging everyone to celebrate the World Environment Day this
year. Since 1972 the United Nations in all its member states have agreed to
celebrate World Environment Day on June 5th.This initiative act is not only to
express support for environment and environmental sustainability but also to
act not only on one day but rather 365 days a year we should pay heed to
environmental sustainability needs.
The video illustrates how each of us can make a difference.And not only
celebrate the World Environment Day but also take note of the implications of
climate change. The World Environment Day 2014 will be globally hosted by the
island nation of Barbados. Barbados has been making transition towards a
