The caretaker Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government, Ogbeni
Wasiu Olatubosun, has cautioned the lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial
district in the National Assembly, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, against what he
described as incessant media attacks on the person Governor Abiola Ajimobi to
score some political points as a peculiar to a drowned political actor.
Olatubosun said in a statement he personally issued and made available
to journalists in Ibadan today that Lanlehin has emerged the best apostle of
double speak in the current political dispensation in view of his activities in
the politics of Oyo State.
Apparently, he (Olatubosun) was reacting to an interview published by a
national newspaper on Tuesday where the lawmaker said Gov. Ajimobi was on his
way out of the Agodi government house.
"It is sad to note that while the current administration of All
Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State is busy attending to the yearnings and
aspirations of the masses, a confused turncoat, who is being traumatized by his
ego as well as insatiable quest for power, is deploying all within his power to
sabotage the genuine efforts to move the state forward as championed by Sen.
Abiola Ajimobi.
"We recalled that Lanlehin had banked on the goodwill of the likes
of the late leader of the progressives in the state, Alhaji Lam Adesina, but
narrowly lost out of the governorship contest in 2011 because God had decreed
that the man with the best intention and capability should carry the day. It
later dawned on us that God could not be mistaken in His judgment as party
loyalists, political watchers and the members of the general public got wind of
Lanlehin's true color of grandstanding, deceit and betrayal.
"The same Lanlehin who runs away from the majority of those who
voted for him in 2011 would tell a journalist today that he has no personal
hatred for Gov. Ajimobi only to launch an attack through the same journalist
against the governor tomorrow. As he (Lanlehin) clings to a section of the
media to halt the on-going process of rebirth, reformation and consolidation in
Oyo State, we are upbeat that he would end up nailing his own political coffin
more so, he has eventually pitched his tent with a camp of politicians whose
track record of vindictiveness, treachery and hypocrisy is unrivaled.
"While we make bold to challenge Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin to a street
walk in any part of Oyo South senatorial district to test his popularity in
contest with any serving caretaker chairman of local government council, we
send our sincere congratulatory message to all party faithful who refused to
follow the lawmaker to Accord Party and thus made him a Lone Ranger in his
current adventure." Olatubosun stated.
