Kim Kardashian defends rapper on Instagram
Kanye West has something to say.
The 37-year-old rapper made headlines over the weekend when he
reportedly demanded a fan in a wheelchair to stand up during one of his
performances in Australia on Friday.
West, who is known for his lengthy rants, used the opportunity on stage
Monday to set the record straight on the incident.
"If I didn't have this last
concert, maybe I would've tweeted something or put out a statement with a
publicist, but I can talk directly to you — my fans," he said via The Daily Beast.
"Because they've got this thing where they want the masses —
people who've never heard my albums — to somehow read a headline that reads
negative, and think that I'm a bad person or somethin'. I'm not judging, I'm just
going to tell you who I am. I'm a married, Christian man."
"I'm not going to make one of them Ben Affleck statements and
s--t," he said calling out the actor.
West also went out of his way to bring up "Today" co-host
Matt Lauer and other talk shows.
"So, people on the ‘Today’ show, I'm not sure I keep up with the
news, but if Michael Strahan is still at the Today show-no, Good Morning
America, Matt Lauer, the girls on ‘The View’ — Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Roberts —
if y'all run this, take a step back and look at this: I'm a married Christian
man with a family."
Kim Kardashian took to Instagram to defend her man Monday by sharing
the video of him telling fans to stand up.
"Kanye never asked anyone in a wheel chair to stand up & the
audience videos show that. He asked for everyone to stand up & dance UNLESS
they were in a wheel chair," she wrote.
