The reigning Premier League champions showed their mettle
against table toppers Chelsea as Frank Lampard scored a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium, despite
having a man sent off.
And the Chilean feels the character shown in the match is
proof they would be worthy winners should another trophy be lifted at the end
of the current campaign, although he is expecting a tough task to keep their
current crown.
Pellegrini said: “It will be very difficult for us to retain
the Premier League title
because other teams will play the way Chelsea played.
“But it will also be difficult for the other teams to stop
us from retaining our title because this team has the character, the
personality and the style of football which deserves to
win titles.”
