Fayose was on Thursday, sworn in as the 11th Governor of Ekiti State at the Olu
Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti, where thousands of indigenes and members of the
People’s Democratic Party gathered to witness the event.
The Chairman of PDP, Adamu Muazu, was present at the event and led
other top members including the governors of Akwa Ibom, Katsina, Cross River,
Bauchi, Jigawa, Kaduna, Abia, Kebbi, Delta and Ondo States. Immediate past
governor of Anambra, Peter Obi was also present.
To this Fayose said: “Coming in as a Governor for the second term after October 16, 2003 AND today again October 16, 2014 is a sign of divine blessing.”
During his inauguration speech, Fayose called on part of the All Progressives Congress, APC members left as
the house of representative to confidently join the Peoples Democratic Party
PDP to start the new office.
“History is being made and it will take a while to surpass” an elated
Fayose said, referring to the occasion of his second inauguration as governor
of the state.
