'I'm excited to bring a child into the world'
"Sometimes, award shows are part of that," the 33-year-old
singer continued. "I have girlfriends who have that experience, and
they'll say, 'You know, I just really didn't want to be without my child
today.' And it's just that simple. It's about finding your normal, whatever
that may be."
It may not be the norm, however, for the everyday pregnant woman to be
draped in high-fashion garbs, as Rowland appears on the magazine's website. But
she also sheds the frocks for a topless and nude photo, too.
"The body should be celebrated," she said.
Still, she relates closely to fans and other expectant mothers by being
a crusader for staying healthy throughout one's pregnancy.
Everybody always tells you to go crazy with food, and you can eat
whatever you want," she said. "It's fine to have your cravings but I
wanted an easier delivery."
In order to successfully deliver with ease, Rowland has kept to the
healthy regime she enjoyed pre-pregnancy straight through on her road to
becoming a first-time mom.
"All the women that I've talked to, that have worked out, have
such an easy and speedy delivery," she added. "Exercise really helps
that.
"And I like being able to have peaceful sleep at night, though
there's no such thing as that now in the last trimester," Rowland
confessed. "I still walk two miles everyday. I still work out. It's
important to me."
Other important things to the singer are feeding her cravings,
moderately, of course.
"I love cherry pie and chocolate ice cream with peanut butter
mixed in it," she described. "And I had a week straight where I was
obsessed with nachos."
With marriage and motherhood now realities in Rowland's life, she looks
to other celebrity women like Diana Ross and Donna
Summer for inspiration on making it all come together.
"They've managed to do it all," she said. "I think,
'What makes me different? I can definitely do it.'
