This is the moment a group of people at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport took
down a homophobic passenger.
They intervened after a man teased and kicked another passenger for
wearing a pink shirt.
Footage of the incident, captured by witnesses on their cellphones,
shows the aggressor approach the man at a check-in point in the airport's
Terminal C.
He then removes his jacket as if he is preparing for a fight.
Then a concerned onlooker in a cowboy hat approaches and asks what the
problem is.
"Queers is what I am upset about," says the man who appears
drunk. "This f----t right here!"
He then shouts at the man in the pink shirt: "Shove it up your
a--, man, see how that feels!"
Then he kicks the man in the pink shirt and hits him in the head.
That is when the other passengers respond, jumping on the man and
restraining him until law enforcement officers arrive, handcuff and arrest the
man.
Asked why he lashed out, the aggressor says, "Because this is
America, that's why. The same reason you get to live to breathe to walk
black."
Andrew Kennedy, one of those who witnessed the incident that took place
on Thursday, told WTSP, "That guy was crazy … absolutely crazy.”
His brother added, "We saw a very troubled man. We
hope that he was under the influence of some kind of substance, because if he
wasn't and that's his true personality, then he's going to have a long road in
front of him."
