Spurs held a 2-0 lead at the break, but looked fragile defensively after the
restart as the hosts wasted several good chances.
However, Pochettino remained upbeat after his side moved one
step closer to progressing into the last 32 of the Europa League, although
he did accept his team must improve in certain areas.
"I think that during the first half we were better than
Asteras," said Pochettino. "We played well during some moments and
scored two goals.
"After half-time, they started well and created one
chance very early. We had some chances to score the third goal but in football it's difficult because Asteras start to
play and to be confident in the game.
"They created some chances and at the end with the
Fazio penalty and him being sent off, it made it difficult in the last four or
five minutes - but we are happy.
"We came to get the three points, the result is good
and I am happy.
"We need to improve, we need to work, we need to
realise we need to improve in different aspects of the game.
"I think that we played very well but the second half
was different and we need to review the game and improve."
