Former President George H. W. Bush has been hospitalized Tuesday night
for shortness of breath, according to a statement from his office.
The 90-year-old Bush was taken by ambulance to Houston Methodist Hospital as a precaution.
He will be held overnight.
Meanwhile, former first lady Barbara Bush took turns with Houston
Texans defensive end J.J. Watt reading “Twas the Night Before Christmas”
to children Tuesday night at the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular,” Click 2 Houston reported.
"President Obama and the first lady send their good wishes to the
former President and the entire Bush family during this holiday season,"
White House spokesman Eric Schultz said.
Bush, who uses a wheelchair, spent two months in the hospital in 2013 battling bronchitis.
The former president was feeling "great, exhilarated" after taking a parachute jump from a helicopter in Maine to celebrate his 90th birthday in June.
The first time Bush took the plunge was when his Navy plane was shot down in World War II over the Pacific.

Bush rose from Texas congressman to Republican royalty, serving along
the way as CIA Director and two-term Vice President under Ronald Reagan
before becoming the 41st President from 1989-93.
Eldest son George W. Bush was president from 2001-09 and another son,
former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, is exploring a possible 2016 run for the
White House.
The Yale graduate will be married to Barbara 70 years in January. They had six children together.
