announced that more than a million Nigerians displaced by the Boko
Haram insurgency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States may not be able to
vote in next year’s general elections.
Making the disclosure on Monday was INEC spokesman Kayode Idowu, who stated that the only condition that will make these set of people be eligible to vote is if the Electoral Act is amended before the 2015 general elections.
According to
INEC spokesman, Kayode Idowu.
Idowu: “INEC is hoping that some amendment will happen to the legal framework to make it feasible for IDPs to vote.”
He disclosed that INEC is in the process of identifying displaced
