Why hello, Bradley Cooper.
The 40-year-old "American Sniper" actor posed nude for the February 2015 "Movie Issue" of W Magazine
using only a cream-colored suit to shield his manhood.
Cooper is one of many stars including Keira Knightley, Emma Stone and
Scarlett Johannson that were featured in the spread — photographed by Tim
Walker — honoring the 39 stars with this year's best performances.
He "was influenced by the colorful, sun-drenched Los Angeles
paintings and photographs of David Hockney, as well as the '70s free-love
aesthetic that informs the artist's work. From there, the photographic
scenarios took cues from Federico Fellini and, naturally, Walker's own unique
perspective," the mag explained of the tone of the snaps.
Cooper's poses, both on the cover and inside the glossy, made sure to
concentrate on his impeccable physique.
"All the actors and actresses were excited to play, to be
transformed, to embrace personae that were extreme, odd, and truly
fascinating," W continued.
Cooper stars in "American Sniper" as former Navy SEAL Chris
Kyle, who has the most recorded confirmed kills in the history of the U.S.
military.
“I had advantages in making a film about the Iraq war. On USO tours, I
went to bases in the middle of nowhere in enemy territory,” Cooper told W of
portraying Kyle.
“I was with the soldiers in their barracks, and I really got a sense of
it. And, oddly, I had experience from having starred in ‘The A-Team.’ I learned
how to shoot guns for that film. After making it, an M-4 felt as comfortable to
me as a tennis racquet.”
The Clint Eastwood-directed film hit limited theaters on Christmas Day
and will be released nationwide Jan. 23.
