‘He will be a big surprise’ -
Kurt Zouma produced another good display for Chelsea against West Ham but it’s another starlet who has captured Jose Mourinho’s attention.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek was on the bench for their clash with the Hammers at Upton Park and failed to make the pitch in east London as the Blues won 1-0.
But Mourinho was quick to laud the 19-year-old, who made his debut earlier in the campaign as a substitute against Manchester City.
And the Portuguese boss insisted it is only the pressure of being in a battle for the Premier League title that is stopping him from playing the teen.
He said: “I had Ruben Loftus-Cheek on the bench and I have to say that, in my opinion, next year, this kid will be a big surprise in the Premier League.
“This season, if I was not playing for the title and we were not playing with the pressure we have, this kid would already be on the pitch.”
