Wolves defender set to snub Coventry for Swindon loan switch

Swindon are set to give their League One promotion hopes a boost by completing the loan signing of Wolves club captain Sam Ricketts.

The Wales international is out of contract at Molineux in the summer and was reportedly close to joining Coventry City.
But now Coventry manager Tony Mowbray has revealed that the move is off with Ricketts, 33, close to joining third-place Swindon instead.

The defender is highly experienced having played for both Hull and Bolton in the Premier League while he was part of the Wolves team that won the League One title last season.
Bristol City are the runaway leaders in the division this time and look set to win the league having established an 11-point lead over second-place Preston.

But Swindon, who are two points behind Preston, are still hopeful of beating North End to automatic promotion.
