Caught up with the Kardashians? If not, spoiler alert, Kim Kardashian had her uterus “cleaned” on the reality series on Sunday night — her hope for improving her chances of getting pregnant.
But should women run to make an appointment for this procedure right now?
Yes and no. Here’s why:
Under the procedure, problematic tissues and growths from the uterine
wall are scraped or suctioned away. This is often performed after a
miscarriage.
Although it’s uncommon, some women can retain parts of the placenta in
their uterus for years after giving birth. And some women experience a
buildup of blood from past menstrual cycles that doesn't completely
cleanse out. This is caused by low circulation, hormonal imbalance or an
unhealthy diet.
So a safe procedure like this gives women a better chance of conceiving and maintain pregnancy.
All of that said, I wouldn't recommend scheduling the procedure
tomorrow or at your next gynecologist appointment. I prefer looking into
natural herbs like ginger, marigold, motherwort and raspberry leaf that
help cleanse the uterine walls. Women should try this prior to getting
pregnant.
