A Utah teacher’s string of illegal affairs with underage students was the “running joke” of Davis High School, a lawsuit alleges.
Brianne Altice, the fired English teacher, faces a battering of
lawsuits — two total — filed by former students alongside their parents
that detail the alleged sexual abuse that led to her 2013 arrest,
according to documents obtained by the Salt Lake Tribune.
She would purportedly divulge her marriage woes to the young students.
The meetings expanded outside of school and included sexual encounters
at home, a park and a church parking lot, prompting students to gossip
amongst each other and ask: “Who is Ms. Altice sleeping with now?”
Davis County School District is named in each lawsuit, the first of
which claims the district knew of her behavior, but did not do enough to
stop it, the Tribune reported.
Altice will stand trial for each student who came forward with claims of sexual assaults, which will cover a total of 14 felony charges.
She faces five counts of rape, two counts of forcible sodomy, three
counts of forcible sexual abuse, three counts of unlawful sexual
activity with a minor and one count of dealing harmful material to a
minor.
