On May 29, Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, will hand over
power to a new government led by Akinwunmi Ambode.

The governor is ready to vacate his office, but decided to pose one
last time there with his wife, Mrs Abimbola Fashola.
Fashola, whose tenure will end in less than two days, had earlier asked for the forgiveness of those he might have offended
in the course of duty in his 2,900 days in office. He said he was human and
could also have made some mistakes.

Fashola was re-elected on April 26, 2011, although many would say his
administration marked a historic turning point in Lagos state. Over 110 rural
development projects were finished under the rural water and sanitation
structure. His government also turned most hide-outs and joints that previously
served as bases for impostors and armed robbers into a beautiful environment.
