I started AK Media from a shopping complex- Chief Benson Akindeju

It has been a week of reflection and celebration for the management and staff of Lagos-based production outfit, AK Media. The company that produced major TV drama series that include Face to Face, Family Ties and Nowhere to be Found has clocked 10, with its Chief Executive Officer, Chief Benson Akindeju, saying it has been a rewarding journey.

While the company has organised a prayer session and visited an orphanage with gifts, the high point of the anniversary will come up on
Friday (today), with the unveiling of a sitcom. Akindeju adds that the success of Face to Face inspired the other series.

But the outfit further diversified when it launched Oyin Momo, a magazine programme on DSTV, where it interviews top Yoruba actors and other entertainers. Also, it later introduced some musical programmes, including More Musiq. The CEO says the impact it has made in the industry is obvious.
He says, “We used to have our office at Ketu, in a room-and-parlour rented apartment in a shopping complex . Now to the glory of God, AK MEDIA has a befitting office in Maryland.”
He adds that the company is unveiling a new production tiled ‘Liberty Villa’, a sitcom “that characterises modern-day happenings within the family.”

At a gala night coming up on Friday, AK Media will give awards to some stakeholders.
