Real Sociedad boss David Moyes does not want to sell his star defender, but is aware there is a buy-out clause which the Merseysiders could be prepared to trigger.

Reports in Spain claim Brendan Rodgers has already had a tentative offer of £14m rejected, but now they are steeling themselves for a more serious swoop from Anfield.
