as family places comatose daughter of Whitney Houston in hospice care.
Whitney Houston’s comatose daughter entered end-of-life hospice care
Wednesday as her boyfriend faced blockbuster allegations he caused her
dire medical crisis.
Bobbi Kristina Brown, 22, was transferred to hospice after five months
of treatment failed to reverse the brain damage caused by the mysterious
Jan. 31 incident that ended with her floating face down in a
water-filled bathtub at her Georgia home, her aunt said in a statement.
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina
Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate,” the statement from her
aunt Pat Houston said.
“As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone
for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”
The sad news came as Brown’s boyfriend Nick Gordon was named in a civil
lawsuit accusing him of assault, battery and unjust enrichment.
The lawsuit was filed in Fulton County, Georgia, by Brown’s
court-appointed conservator Bedelia Hargrove and posted online by
WXIA-TV.
It claimed Gordon caused “substantial bodily harm” to Brown with
domestic abuse that included “punching her in the face, knocking out a
front tooth and dragging her upstairs by her hair.”
The filing claimed that just prior to Brown’s bathtub incident; the
only daughter of Houston and Bobby Brown confided in an unidentified
third party that Gordon was “not the man she thought he was.”
Brown set up a time to speak with the person Jan. 31 but never made it, the lawsuit said.
Instead, on that morning, Bobbi Kristina got into a “loud argument” with Gordon, Hargrove’s lawsuit claimed.
“The loud argument ended and Brown was later found unresponsive and
unconscious, face down in a bathtub, with her mouth swollen and another
tooth knocked out,” the lawsuit said.
Another friend found Brown and called 911 as Gordon was in the townhome in another room, authorities previously said.
Brown was later diagnosed with global and irreversible brain damage, the lawsuit said.
It claims Gordon had an iron grip on Brown and her finances before her
hospitalization and even “accessed Brown’s bank account(s) and stole in
excess of $11,000” after she was placed in her medically induced coma.
“No human being, male or female, should endure what Bobbi Kristina
endured. Pat Houston and Bobby Brown have done all they can to take care
of Bobbi Kristina since this terrible tragedy occurred,” Hargrove said
in a statement obtained by WXIA-TV.
“This lawsuit represents our collective efforts to get justice for Bobbi Kristina,” Hargrove said.
The suit seeks at least $10 million in damages.
A representative for Gordon did not have an immediate comment when reached by The News on Wednesday.
