Nintendo's
upcoming console NX has been speculated about for a while now. It was recently
said that the gaming device would run on Android. In response, Nintendo has
claimed this to be a false piece of information.
Speaking to Wall Street Journal, a spokesman for Nintendo said,
"There is no truth to the report saying that we are planning to adopt
Android for NX."
A Japanese daily had previously claimed that the sources
close to Nintendo had suggested that the gaming console would run on Android.
The report had claimed that Nintendo would gain an edge over competitors
by using the Android platform, since a large number of developers already
develop apps for Android.
Nintendo is known to maintain a shroud of secrecy around
upcoming consoles in the past. In fact, CEO, Nintendo, Satoru Iwata has
stated that a full reveal of the upcoming NX console can be expected in 2016,
and not even during the E3, 2015.
