as he jokes around at John Deere Classic Pro-Am
Bill Murray’s performance at the John Deere Classic Pro-Am shows exactly why he’s in the Celebrity Sports Fan Hall of Fame.
While chit chatting with the folks in the gallery in Silvis, Illinois,
the Cubs fan took particular glee in the Northsiders taking both games
of a doubleheader against the hated Cardinals earlier in the week.
“Satan’s messengers on Earth,” was what he called the NL Central rivals.
Then a St. Louis fan spoke up.
“No wonder there’s something coming off of your body like an ectoplasmic phosphorus,” Murray said.
He also called the team “cheaters,” the Quad City Times reported, referring to the hacking probe involving St. Louis accessing Houston’s player database.
Murray hammed it up for 18 holes, posing for selfies, interacting with
fans, flirting with a 27-year-old and even pulling his cousin out of the
gallery to hit one of his tee shots.
“He was just unbelievable," Jason Luebbe, one of the amateurs who played with Murray and D.A. Points, told the Quad City Times.
“Funny, serious, everything in between. ... Just the way he interacts
with the crowd is just unbelievable, and the way they reacted to him was
great, too. It was just a great day."
