Redbook is getting real.
The women’s magazine will break with its usual celebrity-adorned cover
to feature six civilians — including New York City resident Christine
Buzan.
The women on the front of the 112-year-old magazine are winners of Redbook’s second annual Real Women Style Awards, which celebrates “real bodies and real budgets.”
Buzan, 25, who described her style as “sophisticated and edgy,” says the key to fashion is using what you have.
“Don’t save ‘special’ pieces for occasions,” said Buzan, a digital marketer. “Wear and enjoy things you love often.
Fellow honoree Nikki Frenney-Wiggins, 36, shared her philosophy behind her fashion choices.
“When I walk into a room, I want people to think, ‘She’s fun, she’s
approachable, she loves life,’" the St. Louis resident said. "That’s how
I like to dress.”
The September issue of Redbook hits newsstands Aug. 18.
