From Tim Cook to Satya Nadella, tech giants congratulated India-born
Sundar Pichai on his "well deserved" elevation as Google's new CEO on
Tuesday.
Pichai, 43, was named CEO of a newly organised Google, becoming only
the third chief executive of the company after Schmidt and cofounder
Larry Page.
The internet giant announced on Monday the launch of
Alphabet Inc as its parent company with co-founders Larry Page as its
CEO and Sergey Brin as president.
For Pichai, praises poured in from across the globe. Eric Schmidt,
Google's executive chairman, posted:
"Really excited about the vision
and brilliance of Sundar... he's going to be a great CEO." Prime
Minister Narendra Modi also took to Twitter to send his "best wishes"
for Pichai's "new role at Google".
