Liverpool and Manchester United are great rivals on the pitch, and this summer that rivalry has extended to transfer business off it.
Both clubs have been linked with a series of the same players, including Roberto Firmino, Nathaniel Clyne and Memphis Depay.

While the Red Devils secured the services of the latter, Liverpool snapped up Firmino and Clyne, leading to plenty of arguments between the two sets of fans as to whether their clubs were ever seriously interested in signing the ones that 'got away'.
Most recently, it looked like United would sign wantaway Barcelona star Pedro, who had also been extensively linked with Liverpool.
Then Chelsea stepped in.

Now the Spanish international looks like doing a Willian and Salah, by signing for the Blues when it looked like he was on the brink of a move elsewhere in the Premier League.
And with United being snubbed on this occasion, some Liverpool fans couldn't hide their joy on social media…
