Givenchy plans to give away hundreds of free tickets to their New York
Fashion Week show this year — allowing more than a thousand fans and
wannabes to watch models strut the catwalk.
The show, scheduled to take place on Sept. 11, will be directed by
designer Riccardo Tisci and feature the theme “Celebration of Love.”
But the Belgrade-born fashion designer — a favorite of stars like Lady
Gaga — decided this year to also invite 1,200 from the general public to
enjoy the show.
This Wednesday, 820 invitations will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis on givenchynyfw15.com starting at 10 a.m.
An additional 280 golden tickets will be given to faculty members and
fashion scholars at the High School for Fashion Industries, FIT,
Parsons, and the Pratt Institute.
But for those angling to rub shoulders with Anna, Naomi, and Andre in
the front row, prepare to hold your breath. Ticket holders will be
escorted to a raised viewing area away from the fashion elite.
However, those fortunate to attend the show will still be able to take quality FOMO pictures, using the hashtag #GRTnyc17.
