Reds deny claims Carlo Ancelotti has been approached about replacing Brendan Rodgers

The Reds have failed to win any of their last five games and Rodgers is fast losing support among the Anfield faithful.

A leading newspaper has claimed that owners Fenway Sports Group are already making plans for a managerial change and have sounded out Ancelotti about taking on the job.

The former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid boss has been out of work since leaving the Bernabeu this summer and has previously spoken of his admiration for the Merseyside club.

But Liverpool sources have moved to quash the speculation, with senior FSG figures understood to retain full faith in Rodgers.
Rodgers spent £80m on new signings in the summer and they seem prepared to give him time to mould his new-look squad.
