Not
having a rosy start to life during her youthful days, the actress was
able to subject herself to the life of a waiter during the day and still
able to manage herself through academics at night which paid off along
the line.
Since returning to the country in 1971, the actress has
continued to make a name for herself as time progresses and currently on
popular soap opera, Tinsel, which she is so excited about.
Recalling
her love life with her late husband, Thomas Lycett, the actress
disclosed that she so much loved her husband because he was an
understanding and caring man.
She revealed that on the day of her
wedding, she was still busy on set that after the wedding, in the
afternoon she had to rush back to stage the same night.
In
her words, “I liked Tom, in fact I loved him. I was very busy at that
time and did not want any complication of a relationship. In fact when
we got married, I was on tour at the time. After wedding in the
afternoon, I was back on stage that same night. By that time, he had
bought us a flat, which he had decorated very tastefully.
“So when
I finished the tour, I joined him in our new home. He was very
romantic, very unorthodox and very special. Our relationship was very
special; it was a union of minds. It wasn’t about sex, yes that was
glorious later on, but what we shared was special. It was him who told
me that I had to give up working in the civil service and concentrate on
my acting,” she told New Telegraph.
