The centre-back joined Juventus from Empoli in the summer but has found
first-team chances hard to come by with the reigning Italian champions.
That has led to speculation linking Rugani – who
has been likened by some to a young Fabio Cannavaro – with a move to Arsenal, although Napoli
are also said to hold an interest in the Italy Under-21 international.
But Tuttosport claim Sampdoria have leapt to the front of
the queue for his signature with new boss Vincenzo Montella close to agreeing
terms on a loan deal that would see Rugani spend the rest of the season in
Genoa.
Juventus are said to be unwilling to allow Rugani to leave
on a permanent basis and are instead keen for him to gain experience in Serie
A, with Sampdoria thought to be the ideal choice.
