Eddie Murphy is going to need a real-life “Daddy Day Care”: The star is going to be a dad for the ninth time.
The 54-year-old and his longtime girlfriend Paige Butcher are expecting a child in May, his rep confirmed to E! News on Wednesday.
This will be the first child for Butcher, 36, while the “Beverly Hills
Cop” star has eight kids from four previous relationships.
Murphy and Butcher have been dating since 2011, but have mostly kept their romance out of the spotlight.
Most recently, they made a rare public appearance when Murphy was honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in Washington D.C. last month.

The Australian model admitted to Vanity Fair in 2013 that she has shied away from using social media in order to protect their relationship.
"I'm in a relationship with a celebrity, so I felt like there's already enough of me out there," Butcher said.
“I was giving people too much access. I like to keep as much private as possible now.”
The couple’s new bundle of joy will be the latest addition to Murphy’s already sizeable brood.
He has five children with ex-wife Nicole Murphy: Bria, 25, Myles, 22, Shayne, 21, Zola, 15, and Bella, 13.
The actor also has a 26-year-old son, Eric, with ex-girlfriend Paulette
McNeely; a 25-year-old son Christian, with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood,;
and an 8-year-old daughter, Angel, with former Spice Girl Mel B.
As for Murphy’s next onscreen project, he has signed on to star in Lee Daniels’ biopic of Richard Pryor as the late comedian’s father Leroy.
