O-right! O-right! O-right!
Oprah Winfrey’s annual holiday “Favorite Things” list is out — and the Daily News has the scoop.
This year’s version features 87 ways to fill a wish list that'll tickle
every sense. With O Magazine creative director Adam Glassman at her
side, Winfrey whittled gifts down from more than 500 choices.
Making the cut are multiculti Barbies, a sampler of intoxcating
gardenias, lilies and orchids; a fab faux-fur pet jacket, wireless
speakers Winfrey calls "the creme de la creme" and the bruffin, a savory
treat the Daily News celebrated in January as the "buttery love child
of a muffin and a brioche."
Some of the coolest and most delicious picks in the collection are
linked to New York — where dreams, frankly, are manufactured daily. Grab
these O-nointed hot-ticket items before they're gone:
Skandia Talvi 13-piece knife collection ($150, but 20% off with code Oprah;hamptonforge.com)
LAFCO's lotions and potions are paraben and sulfate free.
Freesia and Waterlily come in body cream, hand cream, a candle, a liquid wash and a bar soap ($126; lafco.com).
"I couldn't be more excited about Jennifer Hudson's Broadway debut as
Shug Avery in the revival of 'The Color Purple.' The story is close to
my heart for so many reasons,” says Winfrey, who was in the 1985 movie
version. “If you're giving experiences as gifts, it's hard to beat this
one."
($75-$195 each at colorpurple.com)
Key tags: "Keys will never disappear in the black hole
of your bag with these poufy faux-fur key chains with the letter of
your choice. They were designed by 18-year-old college student Emma
Johnson, who also suggests using them as bag charms."
($15, but 20% off with code Oprah; emjohnjewelry.com).
A&B pepper sauce ($30; but 20% off with code Oprah; abamerican.com):
Winfrey and longtime partner Stedman are a hot-sauce family, says the media mogul.
"I can tell you these pepper sauces are for real! The fresh ingredients
give them flavor that's just as intense as the heat. Pass the catfish,
please."
Vanilla cake with banana custard, peanut butter buttercream and
chocolate ganache will get you all shook up. "Now, I don't go around
saying this lightly … but this cake is stupid good," says Winfrey.
"As the King himself sang, I can't help falling in love.”
Torres chips (six bags for $65, but 20% off with code Oprah; cmb-gifts.com):
"Adam is always kvetching about the lack of cute Hanukkah treats, so he
was thrilled to find this braided challah menorah," says Winfrey.
($45; elizabar.com)
Bruffins ($85 for 12, but 20% with code Oprah; thebruffin.com).
The “Favorite Things”
list will fill the O Magazine’s December issue, hitting stands Nov. 10,
with Alvin Ailey dancers dressed as toy soldiers on the cover. You can
shop for most of Oprah's Favorite Things at amazon.com/oprah.
