The Serbian defender joined Spurs in December 2013 and is
highly-rated at the club, but has struggled to work his way
into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans.
The 20-year-old has managed only three first-team appearances for
Spurs and has twice been shipped out on loan during his time in England.
Veljkovic was hoping to force his way into the frame this season
after helping Serbia to win the Under-20 World Cup earlier this year.
But Pochettino has not felt the need to promote Veljkovic from the
club's under-21s squad and it now appears his time at White Hart Lane is
nearing an end.
"I have told them I will not extend my contract which expires this summer," Veljkovic told Zurnal.
"Both Red Star [Belgrade] and Partizan Belgrade have been in touch, but they did not promise me anything.
"I told them we would talk after the games against Italy and Slovenia [for Serbia Under-21s]."
