Before your case of the winter blues kicks in and your tan completely
fades, check out these festivals taking place through March in sunnier
climates.
One of the biggest LGBT events around, the White Party celebrates its 31st anniversary Nov. 25 - 30 in Miami.
This year’s grand event, a four-hour cruise aboard the Grand Floridian
Mega Yacht, features an open bar, a performance by Elaine Lancaster, and
sounds by famed DJ Roland Belmares.
Other events not to missed include a White Splash pool party and the Muscle Beach bash.
The White Party raises money for Care Resource,
a nonprofit that focuses on HIV/AIDS research and prevention. They
offer medical services for children, young adults, and seniors and those
in the LGBT community.
Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
This is your last chance to see Disney World’s Hollywood Studios
holiday extravaganza. The annual holiday spectacle, which features
millions of lights on faux houses and stores on the “Streets of
America,” will end Jan. 3 to make way for the theme park's newest
attractions, Toy Story Land and a Star-Wars themed land.
Art Basel
What began as an event catered solely to artists and art aficionados,
Basel, and its dozen of satellite events, has become more of a reason
for celebs and hipsters to party in Miami. Who could forget Miley Cyrus’
pot-fueled performance at The Raleigh last year? Still, there’s also
some pretty good art to be seen too. Besides Basel, check out satellites
events such as Art Miami, Pulse, Aqua Art, and Red Dot. Takes place
Dec. 1 - 6.
Mardi Gras
The parades start on Jan. 6, but the crowds star descending onto
Bourbon Street the weekend before Mardi Gras, which takes place Feb. 9.
Not to be missed: Pitbull and Steven Tyler will perform at the 2016
Endymion Extravaganza on Feb. 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
