Queen Bey could soon be ruling a different domain.

Beyoncé is currently taking acting lessons in hopes of jumpstarting a high-profile film career, Us Weekly is reporting.
"She wants to land leading roles in movies and has been taking classes in New York and L.A. for the past year," a source tells the magazine.
The "Drunk in Love" singer has appeared in several films through the
years and even earned a Best Actress nomination at the 2006 Golden
Globes for her role in "Dreamgirls."
But the 34-year-old star reportedly hopes to move beyond her musical
roles and is far more interested in starring in something serious.
"Bey's looking for an iconic dramatic role," the source told the magazine. "She wants to make a film that's socially relevant to African American rights."
The insider added that Beyoncé turned down a role in "The Wiz Live!" —
which aired on NBC last week and garnered 11.5 million viewers.
That's not the first role that the "Single Ladies" songstress has
turned down, either. An insider told Us Weekly that she frequently
receives scripts to read, even though she hasn't jumped at many
opportunities.
But if she does land any blockbuster roles, Beyoncé reportedly has no interest in slowing down her music career.
"Beyoncé's also recording a new album," the insider said. "She's writing and working with a bunch of producers right now."
