Megan Fox says social media is ‘toxic’ to kids

OMG! LOL! WTF?
Social media is so “toxic,” that kids should be kept off it, actress and mom Megan Fox says.

Megan Fox
"It's really toxic for our youth culture," Fox told Entertainment Tonight from the set of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.” "There is a hierarchy in schools of who's the cool kid based on who has the most followers and who has the most likes. It's a really terrible message to wake up every day and have your kids going, 'Who liked my photo?' and 'Who's following me?'"

Fox, 29, has two kids with her ex Brian Austin Green, but both are still toddlers — but she’s still worried that the web is a trap for children.
"When I was on Twitter for five days, I would have 12- and 13-year-old kids going, 'If you don't follow me back, I am going to kill myself,'” she said. “I was like this is ... awful.

"Parents should pay attention to that and have your kids off of it,” she added. “You're not ready for that s--- when you're a teenager. You need to be an adult before you can start messing around with that. It's irresponsible and it's dangerous."
Roughly 75% of teens have social media accounts. Studies show that excessive posting can leave adolescents vulnerable to anxiety and cyberbullying.
Researchers even coined a term “Facebook depression” to describe feelings experienced by teens who don’t feel accepted by their online “friends.”
