Now witness the firepower of this armed and fully operational media frenzy.
Disney finally unveiled “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the most hyped
film in years. It was done with the most dramatic Hollywood premiere in
recent memory — just three days before the American public will be
making its own Kessel Run to theaters to see it for themselves.
The biggest stars in our galaxy, including the film’s cast, Harrison
Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher and Lupita Nyong’o and A-listers
like Steven Spielberg, Elizabeth Banks, Rob Lowe, Sofia Vergara and her
husband, Joe Manganiello, flocked to three theaters — the Dolby Theatre,
the El Capitan and TCL Chinese Theatre.
Tinseltown’s titans took over the Dolby while fans and others were funneled into the other two.

Though he had nothing to do with "The Force Awakens," "Star Wars" creator George Lucas received the loudest standing ovation of the night.
"It is a true honor to be with you all tonight at this incredibly low
key event," director J.J. Abrams told the audience to much laughter
before the screening started.
The screening marked the first time that any members of the press were
able to see the film, a product of Abrams' zealous desire to clamp down
on spoilers.

After the premiere, the 3,000-plus person crowd spread out to party
across several huge white tents that effectively shut down three city
blocks in the heart of Hollywood. Security was ramped up with a huge
visible police presence in the wake of the San Bernardino terror shootings.
Inside the white tent, there were no such Earthly concerns. The
revelers posed for pictures with Chewbacca and BB-8 and could survey the
costumes from the film.
