In line with its mission to help Nigeria solve its unemployment crisis, the AWP Network collaborated with Covenant University’s H.O.P.E. Foundation
to launch the DREAM project – an initiative established to help
secondary school students across Nigeria develop their business plans
and entrepreneurial ideas.
At
the AWP Network, we strongly believe that working to promote
entrepreneurship to the next generation will help to reduce high youth
unemployment rates. At the end of the training, AWP connected the
winning business plan, pitch, and idea to various resources and business
support programs so as to ensure sustainability.
50
teenagers were selected from a highly selective group of over 250
applicants. After 4 weeks of training and several hours of coaching, the
AWP Network provided seed funding to the top three (3) top winning
ideas.
Founder of the AWP Network, Mary Olushoga
stated “with the success of this program, it is our intention that this
initiative is replicated across the Lagos State Model College School
System.”
Thank you to project manager – Aderemi Ademiju, Femi Taiwo, Bukola Dawodu, Top model and TV Host – Idia Aisien, Covenant University’s H.O.P.E. Foundation for ensuring that the next generation continues to dream BIG.
