'Zoolander 2' star Ben Stiller channels Blue Steel on Vogue cover with Penelope Cruz

Finally, Zoolander gets his just due.

Ben Stiller as Derek Zoolander and "Zoolander 2" costar Penélope Cruz take the cover of the February issue, just before the movie oens.
'Zoolander' on Vogue
He and Penelope Cruz land the cover of the latest Vogue, hitting newsstands, Jan. 26.
Ben Stiller's second go-round as the "really, really ridiculously good-looking" male model, has him starring in "Zoolander 2" opening Feb. 12.

The movie also stars Cruz, Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Munn, Kristin Wiig and of course the other over-the-top male model, Owen Wilson as Hansel.

And what better than the pinnacle of fashion magazines to remind people that the sequel is coming 15 years since the first hit?

The movie, though, was not an instant success, pehaps because it opened so soon after 9/11. But over the years, it became one on cable and DVD.
Vogue’s series of photos, by Annie Leibovitz, show Zoolander in a series of hilarious photos including on a bed, wearing black leather pants and a saddle, while Cruz, in a stunning navy dress with toggle buttons revealing a thigh-high slit, aims a camera his way.

There's also Zoolander in a silk robe wearing a bonnet hair dryer, surrounded by models in gowns also wearing bonnet hair dryers.
Zoolander's signature Blue Steel look "came out of me in the mirror at home," Stiller tells Vogue. "I guess with the selfie culture, it's just a natural extension. Did I have any idea that it would live on? No."
