The Victoria Secret stunner is seeking at least $10 million from a
laser company, which she claims used her photo without permission,
according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Cutera, which offers body aesthetic treatments from hair removal to fat
reduction, allegedly used the reality starlet’s face to promote their
acne laser treatment.
“Acne "completely ruined" Kendall Jenner's self-esteem,'” an advertisement from the company reads, referencing a quote the star gave to Life and Style magazine.
“Visits to a dermatologist for Laser Genesis... has left her with nearly flawless skin,” it continues.
Jenner did tell the magazine the laser treatment cured her acne but she never credited Cutera.
“The Keeping up with the Kardashians” starlet, who is the face of Estee Lauder, claims she never worked with the skin company on any promotion deals, and would typically make at least eight figures for such a worldwide endorsement.
The lawsuit runs down the model’s extensive resume, writing that she’s
“graced the covers of the world’s most prestigious fashion magazines.
The 20-year-old, who is asking for the company’s profits from the ads, has been vocal about her struggles with acne.
“It completely ruined my self-esteem,” she recently wrote on her app and website KendallJ.com.
The marks chipped away at the then teenager’s confidence, with her saying she wouldn’t even look at people directly.
“I felt like such an outcast. When I spoke it was with my hand covering my face,” she added.
