In what appears to be his first public response after falling
out with Dancehall Artiste Shatta Wale, Lawrence
Asiamah Hanson, otherwise known as Bulldog, has finally spoken with a bang.
In an interview with Accra-based Peace FM’s Entertainment
Review programme, the man who was once known as Shatta Wale’s Manager but
was later referred to as a “bodyguard” by the artiste, says he contributed
immensely to the success of the hit-maker.
The sour break-up
The two, who were best friends, fell apart after an
altercation that had to do with money.
The
disagreement went out of gear when Bulldog of Bullhaus Entertainment officially
released a statement announcing their decision to severe ties with Shatta Wale.
Shatta Wale did not take
kindly to the announcement and subsequently responded with some unpalatable
words, such as calling Bulldog his personal bodyguard and not a manager.
In his view, Bulldog did not have the competence to be a
manager, and that he was only keeping him by his side just to hype him.
But Bulldog in breaking his long silence, says he played an
integral part in Shatta Wale’s success story.
“I am an artiste by profession; I am a designer who
sketches. I draw, I paint and so Shatta Wale is my work of arts, he is my
painting, he is my sketch, and he is my drawing. I am part of his success
because I contributed to a part of his success”.
Shatta Wale and his management team.

Asked if he has ever called Shatta Wale on phone after he
stopped working as his manager Bulldog said “No no no! I wouldn’t do that
because there would be nothing to talk about”.
Bull explained that based on Shatta Wale’s utterances at his
(Shatta’s) press conference during the fallout, their friendship has fallen
apart “He is no longer my friend but we are not enemies either because I don’t
make enemies”.
According to Bulldog, he has never said anything bad about Shatta
Wale publicly but Shatta has said a lot of negative things about him so he
can’t still be friends with somebody like that. “I don’t hate him, I might hate
his attitude because maybe he put up an attitude that I didn’t like”.
Shatta Wale,
born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has since announced his new management team.
But Bulldog says the so-called new team is made up of people
he worked with.
“Let me just say they are doing well and let me also say on
record that I put them there. These are my same team members I was working with
so they are not new. All of them are people I know and they would all tell you
that they have done staff on my behalf for him”.
Bulldog also revealed on the show that he never got offended
when Shatta called him “bodyguard. I never got offended when Shatta called me
his bodyguard. I am happy he called me his bodyguard because I have worked with
him and done many works for him as a manager”.
Bulldog currently manages award-winning dancehall artiste
Rudebwoy ranking.
